1. Vouchers / Booking / Cancellations

1.1 All Gift vouchers are non refundable, however can be transferred to another person if the recipient is unable to attend.

1.2 A minimum of 7 days notice is required to cancel or alter your booking. Any cancellations after this will result in forfeit of the voucher with no refund or exchange.

1.3 Sessions cancelled due to weather will not be refunded. Feathers and Fur will however make every effort to rearrange the session to a suitable time for yourselves and Feathers and Fur within your voucher validity. Any sessions rebooked after your expiry date are subject to the terms laid out in section 1.4.

1.4 Each voucher has a year validity however due to high demand selecting and confirming a date in the last few weeks of voucher validity may not be possible. In this event and only if contact has been made before your voucher expiry date, or in the event that your session was cancelled due to bad weather Feathers and Fur will extend voucher for 1 month. However any vouchers redeemed within 6 months after the expiry date without prior contact with Feathers and Fur are subject to a 50% charge of the voucher price. Vouchers that have expired over 6 months are null and void.

1.5 Feathers and Fur reserves the right to re arrange a session at any given time, with suitable explanation.

2. Clothing

2.1 Long sleeve tops are required when handing Birds of Prey. Suitable clothing and footwear for being outdoors should be worn. Layers of clothing are recommended due to the unpredictable British weather!

2.2 Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre accepts no responsibility for damage to clothing or cost of cleaning as a result of attending a flying session.

3. Health and Handling of Birds of Prey

3.1 Health and safety briefing / rules will be given prior to commencement of the session. In the event of a participant(s) not adhering to the health and safety rules they will be asked to leave the session or will not participate in the handling of the birds (without recourse to Feathers and Fur or any refund being made to the client/organiser(s)).

3.2 Participants are to inform the falconer or handler prior to the session of any allergic reactions that may occur as a result of handling birds.

3.3 Feathers and Fur accepts no responsibility for any damage, accident, injury or illness occurring during or as a result of the session or the due to participants’ contact with or handling of the birds or due to actions of the birds with regard to the touching and/or handling of the birds or being in the vicinity of the birds. All participants do so at their own risk. Feathers and Fur take every step to prevent any such incidents occurring

3.4 Participants are to provide their own medical kits.

3.5 Feathers and Fur reserves the right to remove any Bird of Prey from a display or handling session.

4. Handling of raw meat

4.1 Handling Birds of Prey requires the use of raw meat (chicken), Feathers and Fur advise against any direct contact with raw meat and this should be adhered to absolutely.

4.2 Participants will be given a protective leather glove and shall wear it when instructed to do so. The glove does not prevent bacterial or viral infection and all instructions to the participant by the falconer should be adhered to absolutely. Anti bacterial alcohol wash will be available from the falconer during and after the session. Hands should be washed before eating and should not be placed in mouth or eyes before they have been cleaned.

4.3 The glove and equipment provided by Feathers and Fur must be returned to the falconer.  The equipment remains the property of Feathers and Fur and in the event of any damage being caused to the equipment through the fault of the user, the client/organiser(s) will be liable to pay for the repair/replacement thereof.

5. Weather

5.1 All outdoor sessions are determined by the weather. Bad weather includes strong winds and rain. Handling sessions will be cancelled however Feathers and Fur agrees to rebook the session within your voucher validity with no additional charge to the client at a convenient time to both Feathers and Fur and the client. Please see Section 1.4 for sessions rebooked after voucher expiry date. 

5.2 Due to the nature of British weather sessions will not be cancelled until the day of the booked session. In the event of bad weather participants must call to confirm cancellation if not contacted directly before 9.30am by Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre.

5.3 Feathers and Fur reserves the right to cancel any session at any point leading up to and during the session as a result of poor weather conditions

6. Property

6.1 Feathers and Fur is not liable for damage or loss to persons or property however incurred.

6.2 Please be aware that cars are left at their owners risk. Feathers and Fur accepts no responsibility for damages or theft of property.

6.3 Please be aware that sessions take place within a working garden centre and landscape site, much of which is open to members of the public. Participants must not to damage or distress the environment or its users. Participants will be made aware of the risks of vehicles when moving between the centre and flying fields and agree to behave in a safe manner.

6.4 Any audio or visual recording equipment is used at participant’s own risk.

6.5 Organisers and supervisory parents are to ensure the safety of children attending a session whilst on site, Feathers and Fur accepts no responsibility for any incidents or accidents, which may occur whilst on site.

7. Covid-19

7.1        Please do not attend the session if you have ANY Covid-19 symptoms or have been told to isolate due to track and trace. If this is the cause of you being unable to attend the session please let us know and we will look to rearrange the session for you but please give us as much notice as possible, even via text late at night if needs be, if you simply do not show up then your voucher will be null and void.

By attending any handling session all participants are agreeing to the terms and conditions of Feathers and Fur, it is the sole responsibility of the organiser to ensure that all parents and participants are aware of the terms and conditions.
