The concept of animals playing a role in healing, calming and bringing normality into what is sometimes a chaotic sense of self is not a new one. It has been suggested that Florence Nightingale would have used companion animals when treating the chronically sick. Today it is not uncommon for dogs and cats to be used when visiting hospitals, children’s wards and care homes.
Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre Therapy Sessions offers this very opportunity but with a twist, a beautiful Barn Owl sitting on your fist? Our wonderful collection of owls are always the first in line for meeting everyone in a quiet calm manor, perfect for all. Feathers and Fur is able to offer 1 hour sessions, bringing our birds into care homes and day centres where patients are able to really enjoy these unusual visitors. Working with individuals abilities, birds can be held on the fist to enjoy the sensation or just held close for those that simply want to admire the view.
Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre offers visits to locations within Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. If you are a group looking to visit the centre and have a flying experience this too is possible as our flying field has seating and is accessible to wheelchairs.
