Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre is over the moon to bring you our brand new Home Education Owl Workshop for 2026.
With over 25 years of Bird of Prey experience, we are super excited to bring you a workshop that delves into subjects such as who’s hooting in your garden, what was for dinner, and most importantly what can we do to help these fascinating, mysterious and beautiful birds.
Our Owl workshops are –
🦉 1.5 hours long
🦅 Group size is a maximum of 10 children
🦉 Ages range is 6 years – 16 years
🦅 Workshop is held within our beautiful centre and with our onsite classroom can be held in all weathers.
Our workshop will include –
- A brief safety talk
- An introduction to two of our beautiful Owls looking at a few of their amazing adaptations
- A group interactive quiz, matching sounds, feathers, skulls and habitats
- Pellet dissections, seeing what the owls had for dinner discovering all the amazing bones
- Up in our flying field we will then have the amazing opportunity to handle and fly our stunning Barn Owl.
- Entrance to the falconry centre for the rest of the day
Important Information
1 Supervising adult is included in the price which is just £10 per child. Although all activities are lead by the falconer parents must remain with their charges throughout the session.
Toilets, parking facilities and cafes are all available in the main Moss end garden village, which also provides a number of wonderful independent business making it a lovely trip out for the rest of the day.
We hope to expand these education day to cover a wide range of topics, such as Raptor and their various adaptations for hunting, British birds of prey, habitats and much more.
