22nd – 24th December 10am – 5pm

25th and 26th December Closed

27th – 31st December 10am – 5pm (closing Sunday the 28th at 4PM)

1st January 2026 closed

Normal Hours onwards.

So each time the European Eagle owl like Norman here, hoots the white patch flashes out like a little ‘I’m here’ signal!! Soggy Milo!!! Yesterday Milo felt was the perfect Soggy Milo!!! Yesterday Milo felt was the perfect day for a very big bath, but the temperature was set to drop to 0 so out comes the hair dryer!!! Harris hawks are prone to wing tip odema if left to get very cold when wet so need to be dried. We have to be careful though as birds are also sensitive to the Teflon in the heating element so we keep the hairdryer on cool and have a good air flow (we are stood next to a door). Sarah however just loves the hair dry after working in the rain all day! #Harrishawk #bathtime

This is the second half of a rouse (or roust), the first is the main body, lifting and shaking all the feathers to move them back into place and to remove any dust. Plus it just feels really good!!! Second is the head and tail. Mouse does a magnificent rouse don’t you agree? #Feathers #rouse #britishwildlife

What do we do with the birds water when it freezes What do we do with the birds water when it freezes? We take off the ice, remove it from the aviary and top up their water. Every day our birds are given fresh clean water even if we have to get chilly fingers!!! Hehe Thank you @annbr1965 for this fabulous picture !!
