In January I attended a Brand Awareness course run by a lady I had met in networking. The goal was just to see how I could use our logo more in our business and really make our business stand out. The trouble is I dont really think I connected with the logo. Dont get me wrong, my best friend designed the logo and font 17 years ago with the owl landing on the writing and the fancy text but not being a particularly good business lady I have never really been one to ‘get out there’ with the business. Then a few years ago another falconry business produced a logo which was pretty much identical and I lost all love for ours because it no longer felt special, it was just an image.
So the course was to try and make me fall in love with it again, but something else totally happened!! I learnt that I could change it!!!! Jo from Grey Card Creative just opened my eyes and literally within the 3 hour course I knew I was going to be rebranding! It was without doubt the best decision I have ever made.

Jo and I spent an afternoon looking at what I liked and how I wanted the business to feel, what my favourite colours are, what I wanted the logo to say in terms of feeling. Then she went away and the magic happened. Dont get me wrong there was some odd designs but all these helped narrow down to what felt like me. I made sure Olivia had all the input too, the oak leaves are her (and mine) favourite tree and the Buzzard is both our favourite British bird of prey. The colours remind me of the time I spent in Arizona and the blue links us back to what we have been for the past 16 years. To say I am in love is an understatement.
I was very worried though, what I didnt want to happen was that it would be like Christmas Day. Where you imaging all the glitter and magic and wonder but then the day comes and you still have to scrub poo and do the dishes and the magic was just an illusion. But this isn’t what happened. I feel very different about it, it feels grown up, like something I chose to be rather than just letting it take over me. There is still lots to do such as getting the logo changed over on all the paperwork but it is going to be amazing and I can not thank Jo enough.
This week she totally revamped the website too, which I hope you agree is looking amazing and for the first time in a long time I am proud of how it all looks and I hopefully will be bringing more and more to the website (as long as I can figure out how to build the pages better!!)
So I am going to sign off and get on with some work. Thank you again to jo, and if you are remotely in need of a graphic designer, web builder and just blooming brilliant person please do go and check out her website – Jo Grey Creative
