If you were to play Top Trumps with Birds of Prey If you were to play Top Trumps with Birds of Prey Falcons would always win on the weapons front. When you catch your dinner in the air it’s sometimes best to have an extra weapon to dispatch your dinner. The Tomial Tooth does just this, located on the top mandible it is a small tooth like projection that fits perfectly into a notch on the bottom part of the beak. With a quick nip the tooth fits into the spinal column and with a twist the animal or bird is dead. Quick, efficient and deadly!!! If you want to learn more cool facts about our birds and their wild cousins you can do so in a few different ways 🦉come take part in a hands on session such as a family falconry session or owl handling experience 🦅 book us for a talk at your school, clubs such as scouts and brownies or WI 🦉visit our award winning centre. Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre is open to the general public and is home to a beautiful collection of Hawks, Owls and Falcons. With lots of educational information and a centre tour about Birds of Prey the centre is a brilliant place to visit for all ages. Based within Moss End Garden Village, the centre has plenty of parking, a gift shop and cafe’s on site along with lots of other fabulous shops to visit.
