CENTRE CLOSED 30th JULY

CENTRE CLOSED 30th of JULY 2024 – Please note that Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre will be closed on Tuesday the 30th of July for our scheduled zoo inspection. We will reopen on Wednesday the 31st of July from 10am – 5pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Billie Jean is coming back to work!!! Our hormonal Billie Jean is coming back to work!!! Our hormonal old lady is reluctantly loosing weight to come back into rotation on the flying team. Even though I have been flying her for 18years I am always shocked at how big she is when I get her back on the fist!!!! Love her so much. This might be her last year with the flying team though as she has started to develop cataracts which I am devastated about.

What a privilege! This week Olivia and Sadie had t What a privilege! This week Olivia and Sadie had the amazing opportunity to join Jon, an experienced ringer, ringing the Barn Owls recently recorded in Sadie’s Barn Owl volunteering for the West Berkshire Countryside Society. With 10 babies in just two boxes it was a fabulous evening. After last years disastrous year for breeding barn owls it’s hoped that all these young ones survive their first year and go on to have families of their own. The weather held for most of the day, so many amazing cameras and lenses to play with, all the birds were brilliant (including the 30 mins that Milo decided that he wanted to be at one with the tree!).
