Alice has been struggling to stand and feed on her round perch due to the arthritis in her feet so today with all the sessions cancelled due to the heat I had time to make her a flat shelf perch. We have space for our Junior Falconry Day for Sund We have space for our Junior Falconry Day for Sunday the 16th of August at 10am. For those ages 8-12 years old including 1 supervising adult for just £80. Learn all about how we care for our fabulous team of birds including how to hold them properly then how we weigh them each day. Get your hands dirty with some cleaning out (don’t worry we don’t pick the poopy ones!!) Food preparation (you are welcome to skip this activity if you would like but it’s always fun to have a go) Learning some of the names of the equipment we use and how this is still used in our English language such as the well know parent one in the summer holidays- ‘end of your tether!!’ Learning how to find a bird if it goes for a wonder using our telemetry system and gps! Learning how to tie a falconry knot with just one hand, which actually comes in far hander than you imagine!! And finally heading out to the field for training, and free flying our amazing birds to your falconry gloved fist. There are currently 3 spaces left so if you already have a gift voucher and you have been waiting to use it, or if you would like to do something very different this weekend with your little one please do drop a pm and we will send you all the information to secure your spot.

They actually help the owl to hear incredibly quiet sounds made by their prey. The feathers delicate structure allows soundwaves to travel through the face quickly to the ears! 🦉 To learn more facts like this, and to get close enough to see these feathers for yourself, why not come along on an Owl Handling Experience or Half Day Bird of Prey Experience? You can also just pop in to visit the centre with no need to book and a ticket which allows all day entry. It’s International Owl Awareness Day and to celebr It’s International Owl Awareness Day and to celebrate here are a few fabulous facts about these mysterious, magical and mesmerising birds. If you want to learn more about Owls please do join us on one of our adult Owl Handling Experiences or our Educational Owl Hours for the kids, you can come along and fly these magnificent birds yourself and create memories that last a lifetime. Simply visit our website for details or drop a PM for more details and to check availability. Please dont forget that you can also simply visit our award winning centre. Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre is open to the general public and is home to a beautiful collection of Hawks, Owls and Falcons. With lots of educational information about Birds of Prey the centre is a brilliant place to visit for all ages. Based within Moss End Garden Village, the centre has plenty of parking, a gift shop and cafe’s on site along with lots of other fabulous shops to visit. We are open, Monday - Saturdays 10am - 5pm and Sundays 10am - 4pm and Bank Holiday Mondays. Entrance costs are : Adults - £4 Children - £2 Concessions - £3 No need to book to come and look around and your ticket allows for all day entrance meaning you can head off to visit other places at moss end and then pop back to see your favourite bird
