Following Government guideline and the national lockdown, Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre is closed until July 2020 or until we can safely and with government permission re open our doors. Feathers and Fur Falconry Centre takes the health and welfare of our staff, volunteers and visitors very seriously and this unfortunately means that all falconry sessions, visit, talks and care therapy sessions have also been cancelled.
It is a very difficult time for the whole of the UK and understandable there are lots of questions and uncertainty. For ourselves we have tried to keep things simple, and hopefully we have covered any questions you may have below, if not then please do not hesitate to get in touch either by email or phone as we are still working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that the centre and our birds are in the best possible shape and condition when we finally are able to open our doors again.
This include the Half Day Sessions, Family Falconry Experience, Owl Handling Sessions, Educational Owl Hours, Junior Falconry Sessions, Photography Sessions and Amateur Photography Sessions.
If you are already booked in the diary – All the experience session, booked until the official end of the lockdown (currently the July 2020 for ticketed venues) are being cancelled and an additional 6 months is being added to everyone’s voucher in order for them to be rebooked in the diary once the lock down is lifted and it is safe to continue with sessions. You should have already been contacted personally by Sadie (our Head Falconer) by either email or text. If you have not yet received cancelation confirmation, please drop Sadie an email on email@example.com
Have a voucher but not yet booked your date – all vouchers are being extended free of charge for a further 6 months, so if your vouchers expiry date is May then you will have until the end of November in which to take your session. You do not need to contact us for the additional extension we have your voucher details and will make amends in the system. You will however need to contact us in the ways mentioned in your cover letter with your voucher to book your session in the diary. Please note though dates will fill up quickly so don’t leave it until the last minute to get your session in the diary.
Refunds for vouchers – we are currently not issuing refunds for Experience Session vouchers as we would still love you to come along on the session. If you however feel that you will not be able to make your session such as travel restrictions then please do get in touch. Please note refunds will only be made at the centres discretion.
Off Site Talks or Therapy Sessions, these include Scout, Brownie, Beavers and Cub talks, Care Home Visits and School Visits.
Each booking has been contacted personally by Sadie via email or text with regards to cancelling or rearranging these sessions. Refunds where necessary are given at the Centres discretion however we are happy to simply move the booking to a time when visiting out with the birds is again possible. If you haven’t heard from us then please do drop us an email or phone call just to check.
Sale of Frozen Food
We are pleased to say that we are able to sell the Frozen Food for reptiles and raptors. At the moment the centre gates are closed however Ladds Garden Village is open so if you would like to call ahead and order your food we can then arrange a time for you to pop up to the centre to collect and pay for it. Please do call us on 07812171709 to place your order.
The centre is currently closed to all members of the public which means you can not currently come and visit the birds.
How you can help.
So here at Feathers and Fur Falconry we are very proud of the work that we do and do not like to ask for charity or donations. We are very grateful for all the donations in our penny pot when people visit the centre but we have been aware of other centres asking for lots of donations in this awful time. We don’t want to do that and we think its unfair to ask that of people who are also in their own financial pickles. So with that in mind if you did want to help us out at all perhaps consider purchasing a gift voucher for either yourself or as a present, all vouchers bought now have longer expiry dates all the way up to December 2021 !! So there is plenty of time to use them. And it will feel even more special knowing that you have helped us get through this awful time as the beautiful Owls and Hawks swoop to your fist.
If you follow us on social media, don’t just ‘like’ our posts, but perhaps leave us a comment or share our post. This gives us a wider audience and means that when we do re open to the general public more people will know that we are here. Tag us in posts if you are posting memories of coming to the centre or if you spot someone on social media asking for gift ideas, or things to do with the kids we are always grateful of a mention. Word of mouth is our best way to be known.
Inevitable I am sure you may have a question that I haven’t answered, if so please do not hesitate to drop me an email or message, or give us a call and we will be happy to answer any (centre and bird related, we are no so good on 80’s pop music) questions you may have.
